Mount Severn, set in 14 acres of woodland through which the River Severn flows, occupies a delightful location in the Upper Severn Valley just outside the market town of Llanidloes. In the heart of Mid Wales, we are still only 2 hours from Cardiff, Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool.

Ten miles to the west lies the magnificent Plynlimon range, reaching nearly 2,500 feet. Nearby are the sources of four rivers - the Wye, the Severn, the Clywedog and the Trannon. Mount Severn stands near the junction of the Severn and the Clywedog, about 10 miles from the source of the Severn.

Some of our programmes take us through the Hafren Forest to the source of the Severn on Plynlimon's slopes. On the edge of the forest, in the Bryntail Gorge, stands the massive dam of the Clywedog reservoir. The lake is 6 miles long and is a paradise for sailing and other water sports. The breathtaking falls of Ffwrd Fawr, dropping hundreds of feet into the Twymyn gorge, are only 10 miles from Mount Severn. The spectacular Cadair Idris is within an hours drive.
