Schools Trips & Youth Groups
For School Trips and Youth Groups – Mount Severn Mid Wales is able to provide both Activity and Educational days. Our philosophy is based on “learning by doing” which fully supports the current educational stance. A few days school trip at Mount Severn can improve their self-esteem and prepare them for life ahead.
The majority of the activities are on-site, set in the 14 acres of woodland or on the River Severn, thus making the most of your time. The programme is tailor-made to suit the interests and requirements of the group and there can be an emphasis on teamwork, social skills and/or linked to studies that support the National Curriculum guidelines for Science and Geography – i.e. River Studies; Mini-beast Hunts. As well as for P.E. (Outdoor and Adventurous Activity Module) – i.e. Hill Walking; Orienteering; Kayaking.

Secure, as your group can have exclusive use we can accommodate up to 40 in total in the 10 all en-suite bedrooms within the Grade II luxury house. Within the house there is the ‘Common Room’ for indoor games and table-tennis and a well-stocked Library with an open fire for the Staff to relax in at the end of the day. Carefully planned menus using locally sourced produce are served in the dining room and we can of course cater for all dietary requirements.
All activities are led by suitably qualified staff who operate within the National Governing Body Guidelines, are First Aid trained and CRB checked. We are AALA Licensed and Risk Assessments have been completed for all activities and are available for inspection.
