For School Trips and Youth Groups – Mount Severn in Mid Wales is able to provide both Activity and Educational days. Our philosophy is based on “learning by doing” which fully supports the current educational stance, and a few days spent on a school trip at Mount Severn can improve their self-esteem and prepare them for life ahead.
The majority of the activities are on-site, and are delivered amongst 14 acres of woodland or on the River Severn which runs through the grounds, thus making the most of your time. The programme is tailor-made to suit the interests and requirements of the group and there can be an emphasis on teamwork, leadership, social skills and gaining confidence by learning outside of the classroom.National Curriculum guidelines can also be met through outdoor education, Science through mini-beast hunts and Geography by river studies and map reading. P.E. is also covered through a majority of activities like hill walking, orienteering and kayaking, all of which require physical effort in order to achieve, but above all, we want all groups to have FUN on their stay here at Mount Severn, more details of each activity can be seen in Activities
In addition, other areas are covered by:
Outdoor Adventure Activities for Personal Development
Activities for Team Development
And for some evening fun

Security for your group is also our highest priority, with the hall set in 14 acres of woodland, we are well away from any busy roads and lanes giving the hall complete privacy, and because you have exclusive use, there is no need for concern. The hall has 12 en-suite bedrooms that can accommodate 40 pupils and 5 staff. Within the house there is the ‘Common Room’ for indoor games and table-tennis and a well-stocked Library with an open fire for the Staff to relax in at the end of the day. Carefully planned menus using locally sourced produce are served in the dining room and we can of course cater for all dietary requirements.
All activities are led by suitably qualified staff who operate within the National Governing Body Guidelines, are First Aid trained and CRB checked. We are AALS Licensed and Risk Assessments have been completed for all activities and are available for inspection.
Prices are individually calculated according to course content, numbers and duration. Please contact us to discuss your requirements. You can send an Enquiry Form from this web-site and we will respond upon receipt.
